Come and experience the Coul House effect, don’t take our word for it hear is a Coul guest review, we love to hear from you all.
We recently stayed three nights at Coul House and had a wonderful time. The owners and staff are all welcoming, kind, friendly and professional, but not ‘stuffy’. You feel ‘at home’ right away! It is truly a place you can relax, enjoy walking in the gardens and surrounding woods and fields, and along the river nearby. It is also a great base for scenic drives around the Highlands. In the lounges and around are piles of the latest quality magazines, and there’s a swop-book shelf, so don’t feel guilty if you simply make yourself comfy in one of the armchairs and read. A good place could be the lobby, next to the fire, and you’d have Bella the hotel receptionist for company. (She’s a wee dog who sits on the counter in her pink basket.)
The food: wow! Come and taste for yourself! I liked the fact that for dinner there was the option of fancy fine dining in the dining room, or, if you don’t feel like dressing up (not that you have to!) and just want a wholesome meal such as soup, salad or sandwiches in the lounge or bar, you can. After delicious bean soup, I had the best ice cream I have ever tasted! Everything is made fresh on the premises. (NB: Buy some of Chef Garry’s tablet (fudge) to take home.) Breakfasts in the octagonal dining room are a treat.
Rooms are beautiful, each individually decorated, with views of the countryside. Showers are excellent! Wifi is good, as is TV reception (if you must be in contact with the outside world – you probably won’t feel like it!)
I won’t go on – just come enjoy Coul House for yourself!
