Winter, Summer Autumn or Spring, you decide. Coul House changes with the seasons and with each comes its very own charm. Roaring coal fires in the Winter make for a cosy romantic setting, In Summer, garden receptions are not uncommon. In Spring you’ll waken to frosty mornings and the low Sun, in the Autumn, walk amongst the leaves which fall from our beautiful range of rare species trees.

Coul for Dogs

Bella the Coul House Hotel dog greeting guests in the hotel car park

New Year at The Coul House, or ‘Dogmanay’ as we like to call it, we had seventeen dogs staying for three days during the festive period.  Shy host Alfie and of course the not so shy head of security Bella were hard at work looking after their guests and making sure they had nice walks, delicious treats and lots of fun.

We think it’s fair to say that with acres of grounds to run around in, a number of beaches nearby and an open fire to relax in front of at the end of an exciting day, Coul House really is heaven for dogs (and their human friends).

Why not come and visit sometime soon.

Bealach na Ba Road Closure at Applecross

If you are coming to visit us during April please note that the North Coast 500 Bealach na Ba route to Applecross will be closed for much of this time. The road will be open until 9th April and then thereafter for six weeks it will close during the day Monday – Friday.

Also remember that closure of the Bealach will have the effect of increasing traffic on the alternative coastal route, itself with many tight bends and drops – be very careful!

Coul Winter Weekend.

The snow has arrived and the house and grounds are looking like a magical winter wonderland, it’s certainly beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Coul Refurbishments

Scottish Highlands Boutique Hotel, superior twin/king room.

We are currently halfway through the refurbishment of three more rooms!

This is scheduled to be finished by Christmas and with a little bit of co-operation from the plumber and lots of hard work from the builder and painter, I am sure we will get there as always.

We are adding another superior room and another small double room to our current offering plus upgrading one of the large double rooms. These three rooms will then enjoy the luxury of a new pressurized water system too.
